Any necessary training will be done on site. Must be able to lift, shovel, and move debris without difficulty.

Accommodations and Meals

Pine Lake Fellowship Camp, Meridian, Mississippi “Tall Pines” Housing has 4 bedrooms, with a mix of bunks and queen beds, bathroom/showers, a common area with comfortable seating and a kitchenette with refrigerator. MAX capacity is 20 people. 10-15 people would be an ideal group to stay and work here. 1-2 RV spaces are possible as well.

Cost

There is a $24/night/volunteer cost for the housing. Your group is responsible for travel costs and meals. World Renew DRS does not charge for coordinating mission trips.

Nearest Airport

Meridian, Mississippi. Alternate (perhaps cheaper) airports are in Birmingham, Alabama (2-hour drive) and Jackson, Mississippi (1-hour drive). Each group must provide its own ground transportation while on-site in Meridian for work, etc….

Things to Bring:

  • Bedding: sleeping bag/pillow/sheets/blanket
  • Towel and bathroom items
  • Swimsuit/towel
  • Work clothes
  • Closed-toe shoes for job sites
  • At least one pair of jeans/pants for some job sites
  • Work gloves
  • Casual clothing for “down-time”
  • Bible/journal/devotional
  • Sunglasses/hat/sunscreen
  • Bug spray
  • Games/Frisbee/free time stuff
