Community partnerships are very important to community development. These partnerships include local community groups and local-based non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Partnerships allow us to work strategically, in solidarity and service, to think collectively about how we can effectively approach solutions for communities on their way to a better future.

However, community partnerships are defined using different terminology and principles from a range of perspectives. To better understand the concept applied, we’ve outlined the most important things you need to know about these and how you can join one.

Community partnerships comprises of a diverse range of teams who all work together to create a more self-sufficient and resilient community.

The main goal of these partners is to meet the needs of local communities by uplifting and empowering community members to address specific issues and improve their lives. These issues include infrastructure, health, food security, clean water and sanitation within communities.

Community partnerships play a crucial role in helping communities grow, develop and thrive. When we are a bigger team, we are able to better strengthen and extend our reach to communities throughout the world to address their most pressing needs. 

Strong community partnerships can also lead to better funding opportunities, especially for nonprofits, which means more access to better resources we can leverage to take a community’s development even further. 

Strong partnerships leverage the strengths of each partner to strategically address the issues. These community partnerships don’t emerge overnight, they take time and thoughtful deliberation to form. However, although these partnerships can take time to build, our shared understanding and collective focus ensures we make lasting progress.

World Renew functions as an international development and disaster response-oriented organization. There are three aspects of World Renew’s work: community development, disaster response, and justice.

To expand the work we do, we’ve partnered with local churches and organizations worldwide to develop programs to improve communities in all areas of need. And with your support, more of these continuous programs succeed by partnering with us, renewing more hope for families in every way.

We cannot emphasize enough how important it is for us to build the capacity of local partners to respond to development needs of communities as well as support and serve the best local organizations with which we work. While World Renew strives to walk alongside vulnerable families to help them journey to long-term food and income security, we realize that the individuals we represent should still be members of the decision-making process; willing participants in the process of improving their own conditions.
