On Giving Tuesday, we have the opportunity to provide over 84,000 baskets of food for one month to families impacted by disaster!
Many of us remember the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000. From two fish and five loaves of bread, God created a feast. Jesus looked upon the crowd – having travelled many kilometers to see him – and saw they were hungry. Instead of sending them on a long journey home, he looked to heaven, blessed the little food he had in his hands, and God multiplied his offering. Through this, all who were present were fed, with leftovers to spare! It’s simple to think of this story in the past, but what if we had an opportunity to multiply baskets of food today? What if we imagined more about hunger?
Just like the miracle of the loaves and fish, this Giving Tuesday, with God’s help, we can watch emergency food baskets multiply.
