PHILIPPINES – On September 15, Super Typhoon Mangkhut made landfall in northern Philippines as a category 5 storm, leaving a path of devastation behind.

Heavy winds, torrential rains, landslides, and flooding have affected over 1.6 million people in the Philippines. With many homes destroyed, and thousands of acres of farmland severely damaged, the humanitarian needs are enormous. Many families have lost their homes, their sources of livelihood, and even loved ones.

World Renew has been in touch with our local partner, the Christian Reformed Church of the Philippines, to determine how best to respond to families in need. In the coming weeks, our partner will provide emergency food assistance to 1,636 people. Some families will also receive tarps used for temporary shelters.

Through your support, we will be able to help even more families with immediate needs now and with their recovery in the months to come. Please give generously today, and please pray for the protection and recovery of those in need.
