On March 4, churches across Canada are holding an offering for World Renew’s work through the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. Even if your church is not holding an offering, we invite you to be a part of this!
Through your generosity on CFGB Sunday, we will be able to help thousands of hungry families around the world. All donations will be eligible for a match from the Canadian Government of up to 4:1!
The incredible generosity during Canadian Foodgrains Bank Sunday in 2017 fueled our responses to feed families threatened by famine in East and Southern Africa and conflict in the Middle East. This support also enabled us to train farmers in Kenya and Tanzania to grow successful crops even when there isn’t enough rainfall.
In each of these projects, we worked closely with the local community. For example, in southern Madagascar, we provided life-saving food assistance to some of the most vulnerable families. Along the way, our team had the chance to meet a young man named Marco, whom we hired to work with us as a translator. During his time working with our team in Madagascar, Marco wrote a heartfelt thank-you to World Renew and the Canadian church. We were so moved that we wanted to share his words with you. May you be encouraged by his words and reminded that through the incredible generosity displayed each year on Canadian Foodgrains Bank Sunday, lives are changed.
To World Renew,
My heart is filled with joy to greet you in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and our Savior. I hope that all is well with you. And I know that we haven’t known or come across each other before. Then, my name is Jude Marco, called Marco. I’m from Amboasary – south in the South of Madagascar. I was Rients’ and Margaret’s translator.
I write this letter to tell you that I have a great joy because of what you did for my country. Therefore, I appreciate and give thanks to the World Renew, the Canadian Foodgrains Bank and the Christian church who responded to our hunger. We are very thankful to all of you. May God will reward you his blessings!
Marco
