Located in South Asia, Nepal is home to some of the tallest mountains, including Mount Everest. It has a population of about 31 million, and the most commonly practiced religions are Hinduism and Buddhism. Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world, and the UN has estimated that at least 40% of the population is living in poverty.
