August 7, 2025 — The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is escalating at an alarming pace. Heartbreaking reports of widespread starvation and suffering reveal the devastating toll of the ongoing conflict and restricted access in the area.

According to the World Food Programme (WFP), over half a million people in Gaza – more than a quarter of Gaza’s population – are facing famine-like conditions. Despite efforts to distribute vital food assistance, violence and blockades are preventing humanitarian organizations from reaching those in desperate need. Warehouses filled with food, clean water, medical supplies, shelter items and fuel remain locked away, while the WFP warns that current conditions make humanitarian operations nearly impossible.

World Renew, as a global organization with over 60 years of experience in food security and humanitarian response across more than 30 countries, and as a member of ACT Alliance, joins with more than 100 partner organizations to sound the alarm. We call for immediate and decisive action to prevent mass starvation and further suffering.

We urgently call on governments and international leaders to:

  • Open all land crossings to ensure unrestricted humanitarian access.
  • Restore the full flow of essential supplies through a principled, United Nations-led mechanism.
  • End the siege and implement an immediate ceasefire.

Rooted in our Christian faith, we believe in the transformative power of compassion and justice. We are called to stand with the vulnerable and speak out against injustice.
