GUATEMALA - In north Guatemala, a small community, San Martin II struggled to thrive. San Martin II didn’t see many outsiders, but someone was praying that her community and family will flourish. When World Renew’s local partner in Guatemala, the Presbyterian Service Committee of Kekchi paid a visit to her village 3 years ago, Teresa considered it a response to her prayers.
MEXICO Hello, everyone! It’s been a busy couple months here at the World Renew Guatemala office — but then again, it nearly always feels that way! Sadoc and Adolfo spent several weeks in July traveling to conduct partner evaluations with two of our partners in Petén and in Huehuetenango.
HONDURAS - When you think of a hardworking farmer, you may not think of a stay-at-home mother with seven children, but Pilar Martinez from Cañada Galana, Honduras, is both. She has her own plot of land that she works with the help of her husband to provide enough food for their five daughters and two sons. Though she works hard with great motivation, she has had her share of struggles in the past.
GUATEMALA - El Tineco is a farming community in the mountains of El Palmar, Quetzaltenango, and has been working with World Renew partner Vine and Branches for a number of years on a variety of programs, including sustainable agriculture, preventative health, and community organization. El Tineco has also developed a strong relationship with one of our church partners, the Christian Reformed Church of Pease, Minnesota, over the past seven years.
