Maternal and Child Health Sunday

Because of poverty, many babies do not have a healthy start in life. We invite you and your church to join with communities around the world to give mothers and their children the resources they need to start right.

Through Maternal and Child Health Sunday, churches in Canada generously donate to World Renew’s maternal and child health programs. Each spring, churches dedicate an offering to renew hope for mothers, babies, and entire families. This year, many churches will choose to give on Mother’s Day; however, your church can order or download our resources to use on any Sunday to collect an offering for this life-saving work.

Women’s health, especially during pregnancy, is fragile. In developing communities, 99% of child and maternal deaths occur and each day, more than 14,000 children under the age of 5 die from diseases that could be prevented.

World Renew and its partners also train community health volunteers who teach, train, and support mothers in their communities. These classes on nutrition, prenatal care, and hygiene transform the health of the whole family.

You and your church can help a mother raise her children to be healthy, strong, and eager to learn by holding an offering for Maternal and Child Health Sunday.
